Marcello Baruzzi
In just a few months, Marcello Baruzzi has reinvigorated the Living Place Hotel’s culinary offerings with a concept focused on simplicity and high quality – and that touch of mastery that comes from his wealth of experience. Marcello Baruzzi, born in 1968, is a chef with a brilliant track record in restaurants of prestige, including Michelin-starred La Frasca and five-star hotels such as the Grand Hotel Rimini. It is a career defined by mastering challenges and growing from strength to strength that led Baruzzi to the Living Place Hotel’s kitchens. On his menus, guests will savor dishes from the rich culinary heritage of Emilia-Romagna and Bologna – such as the legendary and delicious tagliatelle al ragù, but also velvety soups featuring seasonal vegetables, risottos, braised meats, and fresh-off-the-hook fish in tempting appetizers and main courses. A menu devoted to simplicity, but with the magic touch of a Maestro that takes each dish to the next level.

Homemade pasta
At Marcello’s side in the kitchen is Paolo Busni, another chef of great substance with the Carlton in Bologna and other prestigious kitchens on his resume. Every day, armed only with a rolling pin and a cutting board as tradition dictates, Paolo makes homemade pasta for The Living Restaurant. Real pasta made by hand – his hands – with patient, time-honored and precise techniques, whether it is tagliatelle, gnocchi, strozzapreti, spaghetti or his melt-in-your-mouth tortelloni.

Living Café
A place to socialize, come together or just share a pleasant moment during a busy day, the Living Café is our lively lounge bar at the Living Place Hotel. By day, the bar is buzzing with guests dropping in for amazing coffee, a quick snack or a much-needed refreshment. In the evening, as the lights go down and the vibe takes a more refined turn, you will find the perfect ambiance for an aperitivo, either indoors or on the terrace in the summer, or an after-dinner cocktail with the best lounge music in the background.

The terrace
Every year, at the first sign of summer, we reopen our indoor/outdoor terrace, a space we are extremely proud of. Spacious, bright and with great views of the pool, we renovated the terrace in 2018 with floor-to-ceiling windows and a new outdoor barbecue. This elegantly appointed space is the ideal setting for breakfast, lunch, cocktails or a candlelight dinner in the gentle summer’s breeze. It is also the perfect spot for private events with indoor/outdoor flair, adjustable lighting, a convenient layout and a strategic location between the dining room and the outdoor pool.
