“Proposte 2/2nd Proposals”
Art Exhibition by Lorenzo Polimeno
From 21 January to 26 April 2020, in the spaces of our hotel it is possible to visit the exhibition "Proposte 2 / 2nd Proposals" by Lorenzo Polimeno, Salento artist and literary author among the theorists and founders of Marginalism in 2013. With this exhibition, Polimeno presents 30 selected works that trace its artistic maturity, such as the Reperti, with which the Artist takes up a reflection on his tendency to lyricism, being himself Author, having published works with the preface of the famous twentieth-century Italian literary critics such as Carlo Bo and Claudio Gorlier, for the publishers Manni, Lupo and Editrice Salentina, the Oblò, the Scudi, of recent research that incorporate the artistic philosophy of marginalism.
Born in 1952 in Sogliano Cavour (LE), he studied at the Istituto magistrale and attended the literary and artistic circles of Urbino where he graduated in Foreign languages and literatures. His first solo show in 1976 Editrice Salentina published a collection of his poems with the original drawings in charcoal and watercolour, “Poesie da parete” with a preface of the famous Italian Literary Critic Carlo Bo. Manni Editore published “La finestra rotta” Lecce, 2000, a text of poems and drawings with a preface of important Critic Claudio Gorlier. In 2009 Lupo Editore published Polimeno's poem “Diario Lirico” and the Artist continued on experimenting different techniques, from traditional to light boxes and using different materials. For years he has been promoting a form of cultural and artistic thought, The Marginalismo, whose “decalogo” was signed toghether Italian Critics Raffaele Gemma and Carmelo Cipriani
